Your tank. The right direction.

Choose your holder, then check the span between two opposite rims. The same gallon size can come in different shapes.

Pick a standard rectangular tank, or enter your own measurements. Results check the span; confirm rim seating and clearance before installation.

Short holder · 11–21 in · 2 slots

A smaller tank can fit along its length. Many larger, narrow tanks fit across their width.

Outside 11–21 in on both sides? The short holder will not fit in either straight direction. Small cubes and very narrow tanks still need their own measurements.

Long holder · 14.5–25.5 in · 3 slots

Holder width: 5.91 in. Keep this space clear inside the tank as well as checking the mounting span.

Long holder: no fit for these standard tanks: 20 Long, 29 and 55 gallon (length too long, width too short); 2.5 Mini and 15 Column (both sides too short).

Examples use standard rectangular aquarium dimensions. Brands and shapes vary; inches are rounded. Top-view rack details are simplified. Short-holder width is illustrative, not a measurement.

Installation video

Video shows the original long, three-cup model (Plant-11). Short-model planting slots differ; use the directions above for your holder.

Extend the shelf only until both rim supports sit flat and secure.

FOLLOW ALONG

Set up the plant shelf

  1. 1

    Rinse the parts

    Rinse the holder and any planting cups supplied with your model with clean water. Do not use soap or household cleaners around your aquarium.

  2. 2

    Prepare the planting slots

    The short holder has two slots; the long holder has three. If using planting cups, use cups that match your holder and make sure their rims sit evenly on the seats.

  3. 3

    Set the shelf across the tank

    Choose the lengthwise or widthwise direction from the fit guide. Place one support on the first rim, then adjust the holder until the other support rests on the opposite rim.

  4. 4

    Level and secure

    Center the shelf and make sure both supports are fully seated. The shelf should stay level without rocking or pressing against equipment.

  5. 5

    Add plants

    Guide clean roots through the cup slots and into the aquarium water. Keep leaves and the plant crown above the waterline.

Healthy roots, secure shelf

Check the fit

Match the mounting span to your model: short 11–21 in; long 14.5–25.5 in. Recheck both supports after moving equipment.

Keep foliage dry

Roots can stay in the water, but the plant crown and leaves should remain above the waterline.

Clean gently

Remove algae with aquarium-safe water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasives that can scratch clear surfaces.

What tank sizes will it fit?

Short: 11–21 in with two planting slots. Long: 14.5–25.5 in with three slots and a 5.91 in holder width. Measure both directions and use the tank-size guide; gallon capacity alone does not determine fit.

How many plants can it hold?

The short holder has two planting slots; the long holder has three. Cup shape and included accessories vary by model—use the parts supplied with your holder.

Do the whole plants go underwater?

No. For common water-propagated houseplants, place the cleaned roots in the water while keeping stems, crowns and leaves above the waterline.

Can I use soap to clean it?

Avoid soap and household cleaners. Use aquarium-safe water and a soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly before reinstalling.
